Remembrance Day
The occasion was marked before kick off at Huish Park this afternoon with the laying of wreaths, a prayer, a recital of the famous fourth stanza of Binyon’s poem For The Fallen, the Last Post and an impeccably observed silence. A grainy photo on full zoom on the phone.
The game itself was one of the most one-sided affairs we’ve seen (at least with us being in control!) with Dover happy to sit back and defend the area for most of the game.
We broke them down eventually, scoring twice in the second half but we should have had a lot more with a bit more composure in front of goal.
Earlier I took the role of Tail Walker at Park Run and enjoyed the company of a woman who, I discovered as we went round, has led a full and very interesting life. Chris and Tess meanwhile we’re returning improved times on last week.
