Remembrance Day
There is always a fairly sizable parade from St Mary's (or next door as we call it). Something we used to take part in when the children were younger.
Today I was just an observer.
A quiet day, dog walk, a quick trip to Sainsburys to get some bits for dinner and then some music..
Firstly my turntable. I've set it back up, plugged into the fancy Meridian system. I noticed when testing switching between the record deck and streamed audio (comparing the same song) that the record seemed a fair bit faster!
Luckily there is an app that measures the speed, brilliantly simple stuff. Seems 45 was nearly 47 and 33 was 34 and a bit. 2rpm makes a bigger difference than you might think. Luckily it is fairly easy to adjust (once you file a screwdriver down a bit so it fits), so it is more or less spot on now.
Jamie popped round after the Remembrance service to run through a couple of songs in advance of practice tomorrow. We needed to get the keys sorted out. Seems he can't sing as high as Kevin Rowland (Dexy's Midnight runners) so we have had to drop the song 4 steps which is probably the most we have ever had to do. I predict chaos!
