Cascade of poppies

Today is Armistice Day and it seemed appropriate to go and see the Cascade of poppies in the village church.  It's 30 feet high and is made of 2000 + poppies made by local people in 1918 to commemorate the centenary of the end of WW1.

It's good that those who served and died for their country should be remembered including my mum's brother who was killed when his Lancaster crashed on landing back at their own base in1944 aged 22 years.
