Happy Birthday Pou

Our cat Pou is 11 today. In his first week of life he was dumped next to a poubelle in Pezenas, left to what could have been a sad fate. Instead he was discovered by a dog, Gus, who was staying with Henny for the summer. Henny scooped up the tiny kitten, took him home, nurtured him round the clock, and against the odds, he survived. When Pou opened his eyes a week later he looked at Henny and fell hopelessly in love. It was mutual.

Six weeks ago we adopted Lily Blue. Pou's not best pleased at having to share his home with a common mouth-breathing stalker. I try to remind him that if it weren't for a dog, he probably wouldn't be with us today. He's not really buying it, but we pray the detente between them continues to ease over time.
