Fallen giant

A positive visit with J this morning, so I’m back to feeling fairly optimistic about him coming home this week.

Then I abandoned my chores and escaped to the woods this afternoon. The sunshine made the autumn leaves sparkle - though one of the extras shows why I was very pleased that I’d opted to put my wellies on. Worsley woods are always muddy but the submerged path was slightly unexpected, luckily it was only an inch or so!

I bumped into someone with camera and tripod, but only after I spoke to him did I recognise that he’d been at my photography club meeting a couple of weeks ago. He said that he was planning to come along next week too. We had a great conversation about the relative importance of technique/equipment and art/story/emotion in photography.

Shortly afterwards I came across this fallen tree. I’ve blipped lots of autumnal images from the woods over the years, so it’s become my main image for the day.
