Firstly, thank you for all your kind words on yesterday's blip. I've not had a chance to get online for more than five minutes in the last two day, but I will catch up with your journals as soon as I can.
Today I have been down to Dorset to visit the RSPB Arne reserve along with LondonSparrow ( M ). I was up at 6am to get down to Embankment by 8am to meet up with M and about 50 twitchers ( birdwatchers ). I'm not a twitcher myself but I did fidget a bit on the 3.5 hour coach journey down to Dorset.
For once I felt as though I was underequipt for the day compared to everyone else on the coach who all seemed to have tripods with large telescopes, binoculars and cameras with HUGE lenses on. Myself and M decided to head off in the opposite direction of most of the twitchers to take our photos. The weather was very blustery and a bit damp to start with but it soon fared up and apart from being a bit breezy was a lovely day.
We saw lots of deer but the wind seemed to be keeping the birds grounded ( which was a bit of a shame for the twitchers ). There were a few dragonflys around but none that settled for us to get a photo. On the last route we walk, M and I had a look around a lovely little church that was having a weekend of flower displays. The lovely ladies in the church even made us tea and offered biscuits. In all we were at the reserve for about 4.5 hours and M and I both took plenty of photos. I had trouble deciding what to blip and despite being out of focus, this one kept drawing me back. I have added a lot more photos from today in a set HERE.
The coach journey home was a bit quicker and I eventually arrived back at my parents house just before the sun set. Thanks to M for a great day and if you haven't already you should have a look at her lovely blip of the church organist. As the last few days have been a bit up and down and I've not really been on blip, today's blip is .....
