Had a great day pottering about Dublin. And this evening Neil Young.
Los Lobos and The Waterboys in support. Los Lobos were hopeless. I've seen better pub bands. And they phoned it in. Just not making an effort. The Waterboys by way of contrast were terrific. I've wanted to see them for years and my expectations were met in full. Will seek them out again. Neil Young was infuriating. By turns absolutely brilliant and totally self indulgent. Long intros and long pointless fade outs. Forgave him everything for playing Cinnamon Girl. It was a long set but he could have done 50% more songs and lost nothing.
Still glad we went, and suitably grateful that we grabbed a taxi and didn't have to walk back in the rain.
