Away

Spent the morning tidying up, going for a walk around the Meadows, doing some laundry and preparing the salad to take for supper tonight. Even managed to finish the piece of writing I needed to do that I’d been putting off! Beautiful cold clear day and the trees on the Meadows are still looking lovely and full of colour…very few are bare yet.
S arrived and we had a cup of tea then went to collect M (annoyingly taking a wrong turning that led to a long detour). We needed to wait for her builders to finish their work on her bathroom so set off later than we’d hoped, and as a result arrived at the house when it was already dark and once again missed the turning with its tiny sign. After a bit of faffing around we arrived and explored the house…..lovely! Huge rooms and fireplaces, big windows with massive shutters and lots of comfy sofas and cushions. We’ll have a lovely weekend I’m sure.
Chatted over nibbles then ate our bring and share supper in the huge dining room and repaired to a different sitting room to knit and chat and remember previous book group trips…on the same weekend in the year!
We turned in, full of good intentions to do a parkrun together in the morning
