Good day

The consultant called me on Wednesday.  The chest CT scan done a couple of weeks ago showed something on my lung.  She said it looked like past or present infection and not like cancer, but I needed a PET scan before I can be signed off for the trial to confirm what it was.  The scan was planned for Saturday but I was to go in today to sign paperwork.  When I got to hospital today they said I could have the scan today, they could squeeze me in.  Not just that, the consultants then reviewed the scan pictures immediately and amazing news, it was clear and they scanned my whole body.  Whatever infection was on the lung has cleared up and no evidence of any cancer.  So I am now set to start on the clinical trial next week.  Just blood tests to be done and checked on Wednesday, then  I will be randomised on Thursday for treatment on Friday.  This week has been a whirlwind but thanks to some incredible treatment today, with the Royal Marsden team pulling out all the stops I can sleep very easy tonight, for the first time in a long time and the relief and gratitude is immense.
