"Bless him"

Today was hard for our daughter and me and my husband. This week 19 years ago our grandson came home after weeks on neo natal unit.

He was born 13 weeks early and weighed 2lbs 5oz and within a short time was 1lb 10oz !! He battled with a heart condition, bowel problems, and had two surgeries in his first few weeks of life.

It was a very worrying time but as the years have passed what he lacked in size he more than made up for in determination.

He has always been willing to try anything, he's a keen sportsman, playing football for local teams. He works out in the gym too (although he'll never be Mr Muscle). He's polite, kind and makes a mean Victoria Sandwich !! He is a good son too.

Today he flew to work at Camp America for 10 weeks, an experience I know he will enjoy to the full. We will all miss him but also hope he has a fabulous trip.

The title of this blip is named after Pete's nickname when he was such a tiny baby, folks used to look at him and ask, how old is he or what's his name, when we answered they always said

Awwww "Bless him" !!!! ( some people still call him that now )
