A Greeting.

This picture has a very special place in the hearts of me & Mrs MD.
Painted by Peter Brook RBA (1927 - 2009), who was nicknamed "The Pennine Landscape Painter" and for good reason. His paintings of the Upper Pennines - especially Calderdale are very highly regarded.
This is a very old farmhouse (now refurbished) where a very good friend of ours - Harry White - lived for many years. If you look closely you can see a figure outside the door waving 'A Greeting'.  Peter Brook confirmed this was depicting Harry.
Harry is 91 in December, and now lives in a care home in Hebden Bridge.  This picture will forever be a reminder of him (he was quite a character) and the happy times we spent there.
