Bee on Ragged Robin
Nice slow start to the day. Drove up to the shops as the sky was looking very threatening. The rain started shortly after we got back.
Son number one is home for the weekend and fulfilled his urge for a new hair style with only the vaguest instructions to our fantastic hairdresser.
Spent a bit of time pond-watching when the sun came out again. Had a good view of one of our newts. It is looking very bright and spotty and is quite big. The tadpoles are huge. This bee was enjoying the Ragged Robin (Lychnis flos-cuculi) that I planted in the bog garden next to the pond. The garden was generally full of bees with the lavender, foxgloves, water avens, ragged robin and scabious being their favourite flowers.
Shame it is so cold and grey, particularly after last weekend's lovely Saturday.
