Oriental poppy

The oriental poppies are all out in the garden. They are amazing but so short lived. This is one of the velvety seed pods that is left after the bright red petals have fallen off.

I like to leave these on the plants well into the winter as they can make useful blip subjects when the days are short (Poppy, Poppy prison, Snow).

Husband did a 10K race this evening - his first for a long time. Didn't manage to go and watch this time.

Glad we are over the hump and on our way to the weekend.
