'Metropolis'

On a Thursday morning, while Izzy was living in Manchester during lockdown, she and I would meet for a coffee at Mancoco. Or, more accurately, we'd pop our masks on, go in and order coffees and maybe a cake to share, and then we consume them walking along the canals.

At that time, they had a poster up in the shop, which I fell in love with. It was an advert for Fritz Lang's 'Metropolis', showing at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco.

I looked to buy a print online and the price was a little off-putting. After a while, though, I caved, and ordered one, and it has lived in a cardboard tube for the last couple of years, as have many other pictures I've bought.

Now, though, with the two living rooms decorated, the time has finally come to frame them and put them up where they can be seen and enjoyed. Here we are, checking that the colour of the print would go with the wall.
