Hops

Our hops plants always remind me of "Jack and the Beanstalk." They grow so fast that if I had all day to sit and watch, I think I could see the new cells appear! This plant has grown 2 feet in one week. The hops plants are generally perennials in this part of Alaska although our season is too short for the hops flowers (the part that is used for beer making) to form.
It's a fun plant to grow, and if you have never tried one - I'd recommend it! You just have to provide something for it to climb on in a spiral manner, whether it be fence, poles, rope.
