Birds Know

A gloomy end to the day, I probably left it too late once again. A long lens proved useful in picking out a window of light above distant trees. As I framed up the shot, a group of birds flew across the top of the trees and into the light. It was as if the birds know where the best place is to hang out. This was a tricky scene to balance the contrast.
