Light

A busy day today. I was due to row in the morning but my shoulder is very painful. I am not sure why but I can hardly lift the kettle, so rowing is not a possibility at the moment. However, since I couldn't find a replacement, I went to Portobello and coxed instead. There were quite a few breakers but it was safe enough. As I was on the beach I heard someone calling me. It was my friend Dale, from Montreuil ! He and his partner are in Portobello for a flash visit to celebrate a friend's birthday and hadn't told anyone. We arranged to meet after the rowing
Another friend was there by chance. It was great to see them. Sadly I couldn't stay too long because we were invited to an ex-neighbour 60th birthday in their lovely New Town flat. There was a fabulous buffet and a cocktail master. It was lovely to chat to them and their daughters.
Finally, we went to Shandon for an event on the Union Canal, a flotilla of lit canal boats, where I met blipper AndrewDBurns.
