Morning light

Bright and clear first thing, and the blue sky, short-lived as it was, was a tonic after all the recent gloomy grey. Between the trees, in the far distance, is Victoria Tower on Castle Hill.

We had intended to work in the garden this afternoon, after we'd been to the DIY store in Huddersfield, where we've been intending to go for a while to buy several items. "It won't take long", said MrM. However, going on a Sunday 6 weeks before the C word proved to be a very bad idea indeed. The route into Huddersfield had turned into traffic hell. We persisted until we eventually got past a huge queue of cars waiting to turn into a retail park, only get stuck in another long queue that looked to be heading for the trading estate and the DIY store. At that point we decided to give up, and MrM, who was losing the will to live did a dubious U turn. Not all was lost though - on the way back we called into a big supermarket to buy some things that just aren't available nearer home.

After a very late lunch, there was time for just over an hour in the garden before it got dark...
