Autumn reflections
It was a beautiful sunny day, we walked to Esher Common where I took this photo of Gavin and Xena at the big puddle that always forms every winter.
It has been a lazy day, we relaxed and read the papers and then walked to our local pub for Sunday lunch. Tommy has not been there for a long while and really enjoyed the lunch.
Last night we starting watching the Beckham documentary on Netflix by accident, we did not really plan to watch it but found it surprisingly good and even interesting to non football fans like us.
I saw video coverage from my niece of the Springboks doing their Rugby World Cup celebratory tour in Durban, as part of their countrywide tour. It has been so good for the country to feel united and positive even if it is only fleeting. There have been many reports written on how their wonderful captain, Siya Kolisi could unite and motivate his team to such an extent that they could go on to win, if only this could extend to the rest of the country to be united and motivated to work together to achieve a better life there. The extra made me smile, it is sadly so true.
A nearby local school is having a fireworks display tonight and Xena is feeling rather unsettled. She never minded fireworks as a puppy but as she gets older it unsettled her as she cannot work out what the noises are
