Blue Benches

I’ve been feeling like I was coming down with something over the past couple of days.  I think I am.  I was rather slow this morning, but made sure BB got off to school.  A friend was coming around rather earlier than I would have liked, so I had to get myself ready.  We didn’t have a clear plan, but decided on a  river walk (the river is still very full), followed by a scone.   We had a wee wander then took up residence in a local café and enjoyed rather nice cheese scones.  We’ve not caught up for a while, so there was lots of chat.  We eventually went our separate ways and I remembers that I had a couple of errands to do.  I then picked up some lunch and headed home.

BB was delighted with lunch.   After lunch I needed to go to the supermarket for a  few things, so walked along the railway path to Aldi.  I bumped into a couple of friends so had a nice chat with them, before eventually getting shopping, which included something for BB’s tea.   I then got myself ready and headed off to catch the bus to Edinburgh to meet up with a few friends for drinks and food.  We had a lovely evening, in a lovely setting, which we all expected to be really busy, but it wasn’t.  We started with a glass of champagne and ended up with a lovely bottle of red wine.  There was food, but probably not enough as they only did sharing plates.  They were very nice, but probably not much more than glorified canapes.  We all headed our separate ways.  I had a bit of time to kill before my bus, so a couple of us headed to a local hostelry for a nightcap.

We three all had lovely evenings.

After getting damaged a couple of years ago, this old chestnut tree was cut right back, but continues to grow.
