I'll keep looking out at the garden as a reminder of why we bought this place! It's huge! 

I'd hoped the house would be better than I thought but nope. It's an absolute wreck. The kitchen in particular. All the cupboards have holes cut in the backs and you can see black walls behind. Fortunately we've brought our Welsh dresser with us so can put crockery in that but I don't really want to put anything in them! We've got cracked floor tiles everywhere. There's very little storage. The light fittings are rank. The downstairs loo wall is black! The living room carpet is brown and stinks. All the door frames have been gnawed away by the previous owners dog. It's pretty grim! 

But the builders start in a week's time. We've taken on a lot but we've got a vision of how it's going to be that we just have to keep focusing on! It WILL be worth it. It's been hard for the kids - they miss their old house already. We poured so much love into that house and everything in it was chosen by us. But we can do the same here. It's just exhausting and overwhelming at the moment.
