Great Blue Heron of Green Pond

This great blue heron was perched beautifully on a log in the middle of this pond, but he flew away when I got out to get his pic.
I managed to get a shot of him near the far side using the 18x optical zoom to its fullest.
Not the pic I was looking for, I went to get him/her on the log where he hangs out alot. I will keep an eye out for him as I pass this spot every day when I go to the college to pick up my son.
