The Concert (or, The Perils of Everybody)
Tonight we had tickets for Jerome Robbins' ballet performance at the Opera Garnier in Paris. I'm not really a ballet or opera fan, but the architecture of the building alone is worth the evening. Plus watching all the visitors at the beginning and during the interval.
The performance was in three parts and the half hour after the interval was also fantastic for me. The play is called 'The Concert' and is, as described on the internet, "... a comic spoof of a classical music concert. The setting is an all-Chopin recital where the attendees allow their decidedly imaginative minds to wander. When the resulting images are danced, human foibles and insecurities are revealed as Robbins brings each fantasy comically and vividly to life." Here is a small excerpt, albeit not from Paris.
