Our two lovely friends……..

………celebrating their engagement this evening.
Got home about 22:50. Ages since we’ve been out this late.
We all had a lovely time.
I’m behind with my blip today,
This afternoon I took my friend Ros who lives up the road, to visit with the indomitable Mary (who is 82 ) She had been visiting her sister who lives in Germany and had a fall, cracking a bone in her pelvis,
Her insurance company paid for a private ambulance to drive out there, crossing through the Channel Tunnel, and up through France in order to bring her home. She had been deemed not fit to fly because she was having to use a walking frame to aid her balance. It took two days for the couple who drove there, stopping in France overnight on the way. Then doing the whole journey back again bringing her home without an overnight stop.
She is doing well, but has to use a walking frame and other aids at the moment in her apartment.
Nevertheless, she had made us fresh scones with cream and jam!
Then wheeled them out of her kitchen on a trolley. She wouldn’t let us help,
Here she is in July, just having got over a cracked knee cap which happened when she was on holiday in Poland!

An amazing lady with an indomitable spirit.
I dropped Ros home at 16:45 and then had a bit of tea before the two of us went off to collect our other friend who comes to tea on a Tuesday evening to go to the party.
Here are the happy couple in the main photo.
Her mum is French and her dad Czech.
Her fiancé is Canadian.
It’s time for bed.
