Dark pigeon

This pigeon is so dark that it's nearly black all over.  It's been spending quite a lot of time in our garden, standing still, all fluffed up, with its head retracted.  It let me get very near to it when I was refilling the feeders, so I gave it some sunflower seed on the ground so that it didn't have to wait for the small birds to drop seed from the feeders.
