Jess and I had a really lovely walk in the forest this morning. Here we are on our way, and I just had to take some photos of this Acer and the peace pole beneath its canopy of beautiful red leaves. They are always at their best at this week of the year - next week most of them will be on the ground.

What else have I done today? Had morning coffee with D and we did the Wordle and other NYT puzzles (failed at Connections because who knew that the US version of Cluedo has a wrench as one of the murder weapons??), made a loaf, done a bit of reading, stacked some wood, talked to Sarah and Chris..

Time to make the tea now I think.
