Day at a Time

Steam Rising

Apple fritters being fried at the community orchard today. I've mentioned before that the fruit trees in the community orchard are stripped overnight each year. It's so disappointing as the trees are really well tended and productive. However people kindly donate excess apples or other fruit from their gardens for orchard day. Today there was apple juicing, fritter frying, home baking, activities for children and tree seeds to take home to plant. There was a lovely community feel to the event. Well done the orchard group.

This evening we're going out for a meal. A few weeks ago Cameraman did a bit of voluntary work for a local organisation. It wasn't a huge task but it wasn't just a ten minute job either. By way of a thank you the organisation gave him a voucher for a meal for two + a bottle of wine. A three course meal at that which is more than I'd usually eat. However,  I'll manage.  I'll wear something without a waistband and be fine!
