Dean Village

A break in the dreadful weather enabled me to do the recce for the Glasgow Ramblers Water of Leith walk next month. The river had considerably receded overnight and the only mildly tricky bit was at Dean Village which would have been impassable a few hours earlier.

We are only doing the second half - Slateford to Leith, much the more scenic part in my opinion, passing the wonderful winter gardens in Saughton, Murrayfield Stadium, Dean Village, Cannonmills and Leith. I eschewed the tram and caught the bus back up to the city centre. Appreciated the ScotRail off peak fares all day experiment, hope it continues beyond March.
