Poppies

When Tess got back from Keep Fat we headed off on the bus to Wellls (I’m not allowed to drive until after my follow up appointment), where we walked round the gardens of the Bishops’Palace.

These artificial poppies are part of a Remembrance sculpture in the gardens, made by local schoolchildren. There are 7986 of them, one for every serviceman from Somerset or serving in Somerset battalions who died in the First World War.
Early blip for Remembrance Day, I know, but I might not be back there before then.

After our walk we treated ourselves to a savoury scone lunch in our favourite cafe in the Market Place.
