Below the lowering sky

Another Saturday; another sunrise. Dear S has expressed comic horror at the obsessionality this displays. I continue, nevertheless.

This morning I ran down to Quay Street and then along Queen's Wharf from the end of which I had a grand view of the sky as it changed before actual sunrise. During the time I was there, the gap below the cloud cover steadily decreased, and there was little chance of a sight of the sun's orb.

Hence this is my choice. I like the lights of Devonport (the Naval Base; two "warships" berthed there, so little of the Royal NZ Navy is out of town). The cone of Rangitoto is seen beyond the peninsula which ends at North Head (out of picture to the right). And the reflected light in the water also appeals.

Worth a look in large.
