Dressed for a Dook

but a rotten day for it. Although I counted 7 surfers at one point.
The East Sands at St Andrews was almost impossible to walk on today, even with my knee brace on. It’s usually a lovely sandy beach, but it’s now covered with stones and debris, so we gave up after a while and walked on the path above the beach.
The day started with a visit to my GP. A face-to-face consultation, which is amazing since they’re like hen’s teeth!
Then we headed to St Andrews where I found a great pair of super cosy trousers in Trespass. Perfect for walking Geordie. A quick trip around some charity shops resulted in me finding a couple of cosy fleeces. I’m all about keeping warm at the moment. Hate the cold!
Then it was East Sands for our walk, followed by food shopping at Aldi.
It was dry in the morning but by the time we got to St Andrews it was raining again.
The Harbour here is now free of debris and the fishermen are working on the damage to the wall themselves as the council have been dragging their feet. This is the fisherman’s livelihood that’s effected. The channel into the harbour is still impassable so the boats can’t get out to look for their creels. The creels sit on the sea bed tied to each other in a line with a float on the surface of the water to mark their position. But, of course, most of them have been ripped up and scattered by the heavy seas. One set of creel that was positioned over three miles away ended up in a massive tangled ball in Pittenweem harbour. So much mess and damage and now other parts of the country are experiencing similar devastation.
I hope you’re all staying safe wherever you’re effected by the stormy weather.
