Rain stopped play

It was never going to be a great weather day but I’m thankful the Midlands missed the worst of the storm. The pictures from Jersey and the south coast are quite frightening. I managed to get to work ok and had a few hardy customers but towards lunchtime the rain really came down and the wind started to howl so rain stopped play (or work) and I cut short my working day. The photo is of the front cover of this month’s community magazine which has a little ad for my shop in.
Our syndicate racehorse won his second race this evening. He’s still a bit of a character but he’s learning his trade well now. Hopefully a couple more runs this year before his winter holiday.
