The Golden Rule?

What is the Golden Rule??
The Golden Rule when you are orienteering is that you must not go home without "downloading" , ie transferring the information from your "dibber" (computer chip on your finger)  onto the organiser's computer so that they know you have returned safely. You would not believe the trouble caused by competitors who have a bad run and go home without downloading.  Search parties are sent out when they're back home with their feet up.
"Download" tonight after a hilly and fun course around Ambleside,  was in the Golden Rule pub as you can see from the sign outside.
Some debate was had as to what exactly the  non orienteering Golden Rule is.  Any suggestions?
