Wet and Windy
I was in Bridport last night for a camera club meeting (very interesting, John Norris has had a very exciting life as a professional photog) and I knew that Storm Ciarán would be at its height when I left. Sure enough, there was very heavy rain and strong winds for my journey home, about 10 miles north. And many of the roads were covered in broken bits of tree.
But although the road above our village was a few centimetres deep in blowing rainwater, the road down the hill had only small streams and the drains in the lane past our house were coping well with the rain and the water coming off the hill.
However, further down the village at least two houses were under water, with the occupants asking everyone (on FB) not to drive fast through the water and risk bow waves making the flooding worse.
