UK /Qatar Year of Culture comes to Edinburgh

An evening spent at the Usher Hall to view an RSNO performance in collaboration with Qatar Museums Authority. A really eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary classical music. Music from Handel mixed with Wael Binali's ethereal sounds, which could well have been movie scores (I was thinking Lord of the Rings at one point), to the weird strains of David Heath and a strange instrument I have never seen before as a backdrop to pianist Amira Fouad.

An excellent evening though to strengthen Scotland's links with Qatar. And I was given a very impressive hard back book about the Qatar Museum.
