In the school yard
A quiet morning at home, catching up on some Greek homework and on a few admin tasks.
Later I met Eben from school, passing these trees on the way through the school playground. I'm curious about their origins; someone must have wanted to nurture them, at some point, but they're not getting much TLC these days. They hang on in there, however. E and I headed off for his Wednesday afternoon swimming lesson, always something that he really looks forward to.
A shred of less-awful news from Gaza, with the final opening of the Rafah crossing, enabling a tiny number of gravely injured Palestinians to be moved to a field hospital, and a few hundred people with foreign passports to escape. But the terrible bombardments continue, the trickle of humanitarian supplies is still utterly inadequate. I'm glad that the UN spokespeople are standing their ground, speaking up about the impact on Palestinians and not being silenced.
