Coia's

We had an interesting and busy day!

In the morning our Group listened to a talk by a retired jobbing actor.  He took part in lots of television, radio and stage shows, a lot of which we remembered, and gave a very entertaining and interesting talk, telling us of the in's and out's of behind the scenes.

We had a rush home though to get changed as we were invited out to lunch.  The Highlanders Association in EK has now disbanded, and with some of the monies left over the Committee decided to have a grand lunch for the participants.  This duly happened in September, but we and a few others were not able to be there as we were out of town at the time.

So we were invited to a smaller lunch today, which took place at Coia's, an Italian restaurant in the Dennistoun area of Glasgow, which has been established for 95 years and is a bit of a Glasgow icon.

We had a wonderful time, the food was really good, and big helpings too.  I blipped my starter and main course, but forgot to take a picture of my pudding which was Cheesecake, and was to die for.  We also had a glass of whatever we fancied, and and beverage.

The chat was lively, as we don't see each other so often nowadays, and we made some arrangements to meet up another time.

The Highlanders Association still have money left and the remainder will go to charity.

It has been a very wild day in Glasgow with almost nonstop rain, and coming home was quite treacherous, with very large areas of road under water from drains that were not draining quickly enough.  But I doubt we will have the same weather as the Channel Isles, who seem to be right in the thick of the Storm Ceiran.  Stay safe folks.
