Baffins Pond

This is the pond where a lot of my childhood was spent! Generally messing around, playing tennis on the nearby courts, rescuing baby ducks that got lost, fishing with a little net on a stick etc etc! We had a sentimental visit with my Dad today to the four places that we lived in Portsmouth. We were shocked by the state of the place we moved away from in 1974. Most of the houses looked nice in the road and 'ours' had paint peeling off and all the front yard dug up. We think they are doing some work on it as there were paving slabs lying there, but it was sad to see it in that state. We moved from there into the house where my Dad lives now near Chichester. The other places didn't look too bad. Paul took photos of Dad and me outside all the houses.

Baffins Pond had changed a fair bit - all fenced off now, apart from a small concreted area where some Canadian geese and their young were resting and you could actually go down and take photos close up, but I didn't, as someone else already was and I didn't want to disturb them. I hope this write-up is making sense as I feel SO tired tonight! We had a double length journey coming back as there were massive queues on the A27 - we ended up doing a detour. I'm exhausted and I didn't even do any of the driving! :-)
