Today we had a waterfall tour booked. We were picked up at 0830 by our driver and guide Yande.
We started the day by visiting some rice terraces, very beautiful. Then to a holy water temple. We were very lucky that today is a full moon, and also a Sunday so the temple was very busy with a purification ceremony and parade. The temple was built in the 9th century and they are still practising the Hindu ceremonies serving the community today. After, we went to the first waterfall, again beautiful, we had a little swim there. Then the 2nd waterfall and lunch, nasi goreng and mie goreng some smoothies and some water for a very touristy price of £9 (a local would never eat here). The waterfall was also lovely, we has to hike through a slot canyon along the river bed to get there. Then to the third and final waterfall which reminded me of Milla Milla falls in Queensland.
Finally back to the airbnb about 5pm. We met some friends at 6 or 7 for an early dinner, to a Balinese restaurant in ubud, again paying tourist prices £17 for some amazing food.
