Tuesday
Simon, Tessa, Clive and I booked a free "Round the Bend" tour at a Wessex water treatment works.
It was fascinating!
Believe it or not, Clive is looking into a skip of human poo. (Thank heavens it was not a hot summer day!)
New members of staff often take a couple of days off because the smell can make them feel very sick. Eventually, they get used to it.
I quizzed our guide about effluents that (apparently) Wessex water has allowed into local rivers. Seemed defensive in his replies but clearly passionate about the care this particular plant takes.
We then went into Corsham for pizzas at Mother and Wild.
Heavy rain on the drive home.
Missed any trick or treat visitors. I warned Nigel we would not be in. As we are at the end of a long road occupied by coffin Dodgers, we tend not to get children at our door.
