Not in the spirit of Hallowe'en, but the event is understated around here and the arrival of a calendar from our daughter was more interesting I thought. 

The family have a rescue greyhound called Happy and, with his racing finished, he is now part of the family and has become a much-loved pet. This year the association that he and his owners belong to have  created a calendar and our daughter sent us a copy. The family said they had to take him for a photoshoot session, which was fascinating, and here is the result in Happy's case. 

We all think it is a lovely photo. Last week the girls were trying to figure out a way of keeping the calendar but always having just this photo - I am not sure whether they came up with an idea or whether they will enjoy the other photos anyway. 

It is good to see all these retired greyhounds living contented lives in loving surroundings.
