Back lane black and white
The clocks have gone back and it's properly dark before I set off for football. Fine margins in the game. We were unfortunately a man down for most of it and it looked like we were going to struggle - maybe keeping the score down and scoring a breakaway to stop the 'granny'. However some good defending, keeping the score to 0-3 developed into some better attacking play as we pulled one back and then I scores our second with another good shot. Shortly afterwards I had a shot which hit the inside of the post, rolled along the line and then just past the far post. Sadly for being within a whisker of drawing level it was quickly 2-4 and they finished us off with one more. Still, despite the defeat, a good game, as I said to the woman at the desk on my way back in, when she asked how the game had gone. When I got home I watched the Scottish Cup tie from along the road - Musselburgh Athletic at home to Clyde, two leagues above them. The underdogs took them to extra-time and must have been a little frustrated that the player who scored what proved to be the winner could well have seen a red card for a bad tackle that the ref only gave a yellow for had VAR been in play. It finished 3-2 to Clyde.
