Greenwich Time

One of my great privileges here in the village is the responsibility to climb the tower steps and wind the Church Clock each week. This naturally includes putting the clock forward when the clocks change in the spring - a relatively simple task - and back again in the autumn. This is not so simple, as the mechanism only allows the hands to be moved forward, so anyone watching outside while I perform the task could be alarmed to see the hands spinning forward through 11 hours!

Anyway, all is now done for this year, and here we see the clock face on the south wall of the tower catching some of this afternoon's weak (and short lived) autumn sunlight.
