Plested Meet up
Backblip
We had an early start. We took the car for a spin before Mike dropped myself and David at the bus stop. It was still dark but we could see the foamy waves hitting the shore in Rosemarkie.
It was lashing it down with rain and we got soaked. The bus was late so we had been waiting about an hour in the end. So pleased when it turned up.
Mike and David had a breakfast roll in Asher’s while we waited for the airport bus. A chatty crowd on the journey with two Canadians who were off to London. Lots of flooding further south so lots of people changing plans.
The flight was also delayed so an hour late arriving in Luton.
Mikes Dad was home from the hospital yesterday so we headed to Bushey. There’s sooo much more traffic down South so very slow going.
Mike’s Dad was not good at all. Very delirious , not knowing what was going on. Very distressing and upsetting to see. He slept most of the time but when he woke had no idea why we were there. ‘Why are they here in the middle of the night ? Why is the clock wrong ? Etc.
He did recognise us , thank goodness. Must be so hard for Mike’s Mum and scary too. She seemed to be coping well and enjoyed our company.
Off to check into the Premier Inn in Rickmansworth and then a nice meal with Mike’s brothers and sister-in-laws. I had a naked chicken burger ie without the bun and a few sweet potato chips.
Went to a beer festival in the church afterwards and then a taxi back to the hotel :)
