Evening Stroll
She was an inside cat when we got her from the RSPCA and then spent the next ten years adjusting to garden life. She seems to have readjusted to confinement (most of Canberra is cat contained now anyway), there’s lots of sun soaked places to warm her aged bones. She heads outside to scratch her claws on a log or under the delusion we might think it’s dinner time when she comes back in.
Two hours to go.
We decided at dinner tonight it might be time to set up a keeper photo album in preparation for her demise. Since we each take about one photo a day, that’s 4 x 365 x 14 (quite a lot to go through).
We think she turns 15 in November - the RSPCA weren’t sure how old she was when we got her. Only been sick once (a urinary tract infection), it’s amazing how far a poor diet and years of veterinary neglect can take you.
She’s too rickety to jump if you were worried (she has trouble enough getting up on my lap, where she is purring vigorously at the moment).
