Large Red Damselfly

Pyrrhosoma nymphula Male

No sign of the swans on the river today, so I had to console myself with some shots of the abundant damselflies that were enjoying a spot of sunshine.

This is a Large Red Damselfly which matched the red coloured twig rather well.

I also saw a pair of this species mating, and some Common Blue Damselflies, but I preferred this image.

Have a great weekend, I will be mostly found in the garden, if I don't get strangled by the ferocious undergrowth that seems to have taken over my neck of the woods!!
