Cormorant house

I was excited to discover yesterday that there is a cormorant nesting at Benbow Pond. There are six eggs in the rather shallow-looking nest (not sure if it’s by design or resulting from all this torrential rain we’re getting) on a platform to the side of the duck house. While I was there this morning, though, the resident cormorant (no sign of a partner) was too busy drying its wings to be sitting on the eggs, but all expectant parents need a break now and then.
