Tobacco barn

This morning I was in the office for an (successful) emergency power test and now I'm on my way home again. Taken from the train, this picture of a tobacco barn.

On the internet I read that after the Second World War, at the height of cultivation in Switzerland, there were more than 6000 producers in the country. Currently there are about 150 farms growing tobacco on an area of almost 400 hectares.  In our region, these farms are rather the exception. Overall, the harvest can cover about 4 per cent of domestic demand.
