Amar - Tu Hai Mera Sanam (1994)
Dolly Parton of course wrote and recorded I Will Always Love You in 1973, and it went on to become a phenomenal hit by Whitney Houston when used in the film The Bodyguard in 1992.
My favourite version, though, was recorded in Hindi by a 12-year old Asian girl from Walsall and given a limited release on cassette only in 1994. Amar Dhanjan went on to become a superstar in the Asian world. In 2000, she scored a UK chart hit with her cover of the Prince song Sometimes It Snows in April.
