Skipton woods

Light rain for Fletch and us in our pre breakfast walk but still so pleasant. Lots of locals walking their dogs. We strolled  down to the bridge and Fletch had a good sniff while I took in the misty views, Lovely

The rain got quite heavy after our breakfast but the weather app said it would be dry in Skipton by mid day. So we had a relaxing morning then drove up to Skipton and the rai  had stopped and it was quite warm. We followed the path up to the canal and then below the castle intomSkipton woods. The leaves still looked fresh and green and the sun kept shining through so it was a lovely walk. It was a bit muddy but we managed to keep Fletch  presentable and we walked back into town to the Cake Hole . Fletch snoozed under the table after eating his 'packed linch' while we had cake and coffee. M had ordered waffles and ice cream but the last lot had just been ordered. He was a bit miffed to see that the recipient left half of it.
We had a wander along the arcade and the main street. I like Skipton. It's a bustling town with lots of shops. It is so different to Barrow which has so  many closed shops.

En route back to the hotel we stopped at twin Locks and had a wander round the garden centre. A memorial stone reminded me that its 44 years today since dad died. I'll never stop missing him

By the evening the wind had really built up. Storm Babet on it's way
